Now... KiddieLand has been where it is since it was the middle of nowhere.
This is evidenced by the ear of corn at the top of the sign that these *Darger-esque kids are swinging from. There hasn't been a corn field around here for quite some time.
Conveniently located across the street from the Maywood Park Race Track, so you can drop off the kids, then go lose your paycheck on the ponies. I bet its been done.
And while we're at it, why is the Maywood Park Track in Melrose Park?
Update: My uncle suggested that Maywood and Melrose Park are on opposite sides of the street here. Excellent theory. Turns out that four cities meet at North & 1st. None of them, however, is Maywood. You've got Melrose Park, River Grove, River Forest and Elmwood Park. Maywood is a tad south yet.
If you stand at this intersection, you might feel a slight tingling sensation, akin to the Vortexes of Sedona, Arizona. This being suburban Illinois, the energy you channel will likely be understated compared to the sort they have in Sedona. The fact remains; the Maywood Park Race Track still stands solidly in Melrose Park.
Anyhow, where were we? Oh, yes. KiddieLand. KiddieLand Rocks.
*Well, the gal anyway.
